Stanford University researchers have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) programme that organised the periodic table of elements within hours. Called ‘Atom2Vec’, the AI learned to distinguish between atoms after analysing a list of chemical compound names from an online database. It then used the natural language processing to cluster the elements according to their chemical properties.
